Question
We've had a pup for about a week now and he just turned 7 wks old today. He's a lab mix and he's starting to show some attitude and behavioral problems. Maybe it's just cause he's so young but he is a biter/chewer and that's what we're most worried about. He's got lots of toys and a large bone he loves but he still chews and bites on everything. Another thing is he doesn't go outside on his own, we have to carry him out there most of the time. He will go to the door on his own sometimes but rarely. Any suggestions? Is it just cause he's too young still, will he grow out of it? We do keep him in a kennel when we're gone.

Answer
What you are describing is natural.  At this stage, you need a lot of patience and persistence.  You should be able to call him and have him follow you out the door.  He may find even one low step intimidating.  I have had some Labs that were jumping on the sofa when others couldn't make it up a 6'' step.  You should start the basic commands.  Keep each session very short, only a minute or 2.  Steal a few minutes here and there, and you will have a dog that knows its basic obedience before most people even start training.
