Chihuahua with itching and spots of irration

Question
I have a 2 year old Chi dog that just had a litter of 6 puppies and after weaning I noticed about 4 sores or itching spots on her trunk. I am concerned what to do for her she is loosing her hair and scratches all the time. I thought the sores were from scratching and digging at her self. But, I am concerned that she has a problem. My husband noticed she had ate about a half of medium size bad of m&ms and that caused the problem. She doesnt act sick or anything but now she has these spots and scratches all the time. I was concerned that it was from just having puppies and not getting enough nutrition. We feed her regular puppy chow named brand or dog chow name brand. So, I really need help with this and what to do or buy for her. I cannot afford at this time to take her to a vet. Your help would be gratefully appreciated.

Answer
Hello, I can say it sounds like allergies but it could be mange...she needs to see a vet,... the money can probaly be gotten from somewhere...friends/family/loan shops it is very important she sees her vet right away...as allergies are relitivly easy to treat and so is mange but she should not be allowed to suffer in the mean time, I can not say for sure what she has as i'm not a vet and don't know exactly what the spots look like...In the meanwhile give her a cool water bath skip the soap or use oatmeal dog shampoo its soothing to her skin but book the vet trip right away...when my jack russell terrier had an allergy outbreak for the first time at 7 months old he scratched constantly...lost hair on his muzzle/chest/ear from scratching had hot spots and was very misreble...treatment costed around $100-120 dollars that was including medication/a cone and drops of the yeast in his ear. also puppy chow or dog chow is a cheap food the product contains no real meat only chicken and animal By products and alot of corn/wheat/fillers that Can acctully cause allergies in dogs...I had my jack russell terrier on pedigree at the time of his allergic break out when he was 7 months old I have since changed him to blue buffalo fish and sweet potatoe(its hypo allergtic...fish and potatoe kibbles are reccomend via vets for dogs with allergies) and his allergies have been much better as well the allergies in my other dog have subsided as well and since cahnging to a better food for my large dogshe no longer gets yeast in her ears or canine acne anymore....I guess I could blame it on all the cheaper food I was feeding for the problems they had as they are almost allergy free now(my large dog has no allergy problems anymore). She shouldnt be on puppy chow...feeding puppy food to an adult dog is only reccomended when the said dog is nursing a litter feeding this after wards is not reccomended as it contains too much protine and fat for an adult dog, Please don't take this email the wrong way...I understand sometimes money is ahard to come by but borrowing it if at All possible for the dogs health and well being doesnt seem out of the question to me as I've borrowed money for such things a few times, wishing you the best of luck with your baby girl ~
