hair growth

I recently shaved my dogs hair and now I wished I hadn't. How long will it take for her hair to grow back? She is scratching her skin to death and I am keeping ointment on it to soothe it. what can I do? She is a Schitzu

It sounds like you shaved it too close.  what blade number did you use.   It sounds like she has razor burn.  That can get serious, you may want to get her a cortisone shot to ease the burning and itching. The hair starts to grow immediately if she lets it alone, but with her scratching, i don't know.
