Playmates

Question
I don't know too much about this but, can you have a female Shih Tzu and a male Terrier together as play mates without trying to mate them or will they mate together anyway because of the gender mix.

Lee, if you have the male dog neutered and the female dog spayed, there is absolutely no problem in having them as playmates. Otherwise, yes, they are going to breed each other, and we certainly do not need any more mixed-breed puppies brought into the world! Have them fixed and they'll be fine.
