My malamute dont talk anymore

Hi.
Earlier on every day when I came home, we malamute Enya always talked to me untill she got my attention, but now she doesn't say anything. Can I train her to talk again?

Hi Kim,

Thank you for writing to me about your Enya.  I well know the talking that Malamutes and Huskies do as I've always had northern breeds.  You don't mention how old Enya is or her health condition.  The first thing I would do is take her in for a full blood work panel to make sure that nothing is wrong with her.  

Perhaps when she was a puppy, she craved attention more than she does now.  It is possible that as an older dog she has learned that she doesn't need the attention to know that she is loved.  

Why not make a big fuss when you come home for a week or two and then one day, don't pay attention to her.  See if she starts talking again.

I still recommend a full medical exam just in case something is wrong.  Any sudden change in behavior can be a sign of a medical problem.
