Help stop Daisy peeing on my settee!!

Question
We adopted Daisy (a cavalier king charles spaniel) earlier this year from a breeder whom our other "ckcs", william came from. Apparently she is around 4 and a half years old and has had 3 litters prior to coming to us. Soon after she came to us we began to suspect she had probably not been very well cared for by the breeders (she had a really bad ear infection, rotten teeth requiring extractions, and a cyst on one of her nipples that needed removing.) After an initial period of very unsettled behaviour ie howling and pacing and generally fretting if she was left, she seemed to settle in. Our 2 year old spaniel ,William has accepted her into his home although at meal times he shows her he's top dog by growling at her if she's fed too close to him. She is a very loving dog and wonderful with our children, so gentle! Unfortunately within a few weeks of coming to us she began to pee around the house. We forgave her a few accidents due to her being so new to the family but then things got worse and she began to pee on furniture! On 3 occasions she did it on our childrens duvets and got herself into big trouble! Since then she regularly pees on the settee in our dining room, which is also her and Williams bed. Usually during the night but on other occassions when left alone. We make sure she goes out to pee last thing at night but it often doesn't make a difference. I am now getting seriously fed up of it, with two small children in the house i feel we need to stop this as soon as possible, we don't want to give up on her and re home her again but if she keeps peeing on the furniture we may have to. If you can suggest anything at all we'd be really grateful!
            Yours hopefully,

Answer
Well, you could take her to the vet to see if she has a health problem that is causing it,and if it isn't,you could always ask the vet to refer you to a training that deals with this type of problem

Sometimes, unfortunatly, things don't always work out with dogs, years ago there was a dog that I once had to give back, but trying to work on the problem first is the best thing, then work from there
