Re-introducing toys in a two dog home.

Question
We just rescued a 2 year old  female puggle (spayed) that has some abandonment issues. She has taken the role of Dominant Dog in the household and we are treating her as such. Our Bug "boston terrier/pug cross" who is neutered has been fairly accepting of her and has taken the role of the omega dog. We have noticed the only time Layla gets agressive with him and tries to fight with him is over toys and such so we removed them and we play with them separately. We would like to,however, be able to play with them together and were wondering how to go about reintroducing toys in the home. Our plan was to play with layla first while we got otis to lie down and watch (which worked fine), however when it came to be otis's turn layla became very agitated and anxious, and tried to lunge at him... I was wondering should we even bother trying to reintroduce the toys or leave it at playing with them in separate circumstances. Or how to go about it the best way. Thank you for your time.

Answer
I think you need to work with Layla first ...is she letting you take the toys from her just fine? If so a trainer may need to help. If she has a problem with you taking them from her, i think that we need to work with her in knowing she will get them back and that she is not in charge...let me know how she is with you .thanks
