Male Mini Schnauzer

Question
I have a 9 mo old male mini schnauzer (not neutered) named Boomer who I added to our family as a second pet.  We already had a 10 yr old Male (neutered) Rotweiller whose name is Rambo.  What a combo.  They do get along well except Rambo is protective of his food bowl.  When the 2 of them go outside to do their business, Boomer drinks Rambo's urine as he is peeing.  Do you have any answers of why he does this.  Is he lacking something in his diet?

Answer
While I really don't know the answer to this, I have seen it done before, and usually to an older dog. I suspect there is something about Rambo's urine (like maybe too much protein or some sort of infection) that is attracting Boomer. You might have a urinalysis run to see if anything is abnormal.
