my chihuaua/daschund has white feces

Question
My dog coco is 18 months old, a chihuaua/daschund mix and behaving very odd today. He has been lying around most of the day and had an accident in the house for the first time. It was a white poop and it also looked very dry.

What I have done to remedy this is more frequent out door trips and watching where he travels.  My yard is semi fenced and he is able to travel to the front yard at times.
He seems hesistate to eat a usual meal and does drink more water that I have noticed.
I am home most of the day since I am self employed from within my home.

Answer
Hi Jacqulyn,  It sounds like he has gotten into some bones.  When they eat a lot of bone marrow from the center of a bone it will cause them white stools that are dry and cause them to drink more water.  If he ate too much, he also won't want to eat as usual.  Just make sure that he is still pooping, and also keeps drinking water.  Definitely do not let him have anymore bones if he has eaten any as it will make it worse.  Hope this helps,
