finding a female lab

Question
I have two male labs; one yellow and one chocolate.  The chocolate is the son of the yellow one.  I would like to mate both of them this time.  Could you help me out?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi Sharon,

Before you find dogs to breed your dogs to, both of your dogs should receive a pre-breeding health screening and screening for genetic problems. The owner of any potential mates may well ask to see confirmation of your dog's health.

You could contact your vet's office, and ask if they know of anyone looking for a "stud" dog. You could also place an ad in your local newspaper advertising your two dogs are available for stud services.

Another way of going about this would be to register at one of the following stud dog locater web sites, so people with female dogs who are looking to breed their dogs, can contact you.

Contact your local Labrador Retriever Kennel Club and ask if they know of anyone looking for a stud dog in your area. If there isn't a local chapter of a kennel club near you, you can contact the breed's regional or national club for help. This is the web site for the national Labrador Retriever Kennel Club:

Best of luck,
