Question
Hi, My name is Ariane I don't know if my subject makes sense but this is my problem:
I have a 3 year old female miniature Pinscher and an almost 1 year old male miniature Pinscher and they have just cross about 4 days ago, now my female dog is back to normal the problem is the male dog, he doesn't let almost anyone get close to her or let her out of his sight, and he has started to snap at people who want to pet her or are near her like my uncle and my 2 year old nephew for getting too close to her and I have started to separate them but he just keeps on whining at the door room she is been kept apart, and I want to know if I should just let him be overprotective of her and that way he'll return to normal or if I should keep the separation method for periods of time? thank you if anyone can answer this it will help me a lot

Answer
If you dont correct him when he snaps at people now, he will become an aggressive biter all the time...Put a chain collar and a leash on him whenever he is around people and when he growls or even stands up to anyone,, snap that leash and yell "NO"  do this every time.  Right after you do that, put him in a crate away from everyone.  He is still young enough to correct, but if you wait any longer you will have a BIG problem

Ps if this doesnt work, then you will have to take stronger methods so be very consistant in this training.
