HELP! registration or no registration?

19 14:00:23

Question
Can I pay the AKC to register my purebred puppy after the purchase, like in 6 months or so?  The breeder has priced her 7 week old standard poodle at $600 for limited registration; $1000 for full registration.  Couldn't I just get him registered at some point What's the benefit of full registration?  Won't the limited registration tell me if the poodle is too inbred?

Answer
Hi Amy, Limited registration means you can not breed the dog (the puppies could never be registered with AKC).  A pedigree would tell you if the dog is inbred.  You are welcome to send me a copy of her pedigree to my e-mail puglover_1@juno.com and I can review it and let you know if she is inbred or linebred as well as any outcrossing.  Full registration means you can do anything you want with the dog through AKC.  You have one year to register a dog from the date that you purchase it from the breeder.  Once that date has passed you can no longer register the dog.  Hope this helps, and if you have anymore questions, feel free to let me know.
