HAVE A PUPPY RESCUED A 10 YROLD SHIH STZU

i HAVE A 6 MONTH OLD SPANIEL SPRINGER AND JUST RESCUED A 10 YEAR OLD SHIH SZU. HOW CAN i GET THE PUPPY TO RELAX AND GET ALONG WITH THE OLDER DOG??? THE PUPPY WAS JUST NEUTERED.

Since the puppy was just neutered, he should be kept on the quiet side anyway. I keep mine confined in a crate after neutering so they don't pull stitches, etc., so that would work out quite well in having them separated the first few days, yet they can still observe each other.

It may take a couple weeks, but eventually the youngster should accept the new guy. Just be sure that the larger puppy doesn't pounce on the smaller, older dog and hurt him.
