Selling Puppies

What is the recommended time frame for selling puppies?  I always thought that six weeks was the normal.  Would 5.5 weeks be acceptable?

Hello Eric,  My preference is 8 weeks.  At approximately 5 weeks the mommy dog will start to wean them off her milk, this is when you introduce them to puppy food, dry preferably, sometimes you have to moisten it with warm water.  You might also check your local laws I know where I live it is illegal to sell any pup before 8 weeks.  Now that does not mean people do not sell them earlier.  But to be absolutely responsible I would wait until they are at least 6 weeks and this would only be if they were completely weaned from the mom and are eating dry food on a regular basis.  I hope this helps.  Thanks for asking, Cindy Lou :)
