Bullying dog!

Question
Hi Kristen,
I was just wondering if you might be able to give me some advice.  We have a male (fixed) Siberian husky named Sabre who is almost one and we recently adopted a Female (also fixed) Siberian husky who is 6 months.  Both dogs have lovely natures.  We have had Dakota for 2 days and Sabre is being such a bully!  He keeps biting her back and neck and really annoying her and getting in her face and she gets angry and retaliates and they have a fight/ wrestle.  We are trying to do all of the things we should for example feeding Sabre first, giving him treats first, patting him first etc,  but he just keeps annoying her!  Is this normal??  How should I go about stopping the behavior??

Answer
Sounds like he is trying to make her play, rather then really hurt her-what will help is to sometimes give him a 'time out' and to give them breaks away from each other

Also taking him for long walks and just time along with him and slowly let him be with the new one more, sometimes if they spend a lot of time together all at once they are more likely to get into such tussles

If slowly introduced to each other they will just become accustomed to each other, rather then the older one thinking the puppy is just a big play toy
