New Sister??

I have a two year old Jack Russell/Chiuhuwa mix. He is very affectionate towards people in his inner circle. If you are not in the circle he will bite you. Me and the dog moved in with my parents about 6 months ago. Heineken is very insecure around other dogs and may bark at them but nto hurt them. My parents have a 9 year old germen shepard that Hinnie used to hate. They are both boys. But after he got to know him, they became great friends and the older dog and him are very close. We are thinking about getting a female Shihtzu. I know Hinnie will be ok with her after he gets to know her but is their a chance he might harm the puppy?

Hello...it is hard to answer this without seeing the dog, but if you do it right, it should not be a problem. Do NOT introduce the puppy in the house. That is Hinnie's territory now. Do it outside in the front yard or at a park where it is neutral. If he gets used to her there it should be ok for the most part., Keep in mind that one of the dogs may develop jealousy issues and you wont know til you have them all together. Good luck
