Keeping food down

Question
My dog lately has been having a hard time keeping her food down.  Two days ago she got into a wrapper and ever since then she can't eat her food.  She is full of energy and is always happy just when she eats her food.  I tried to give her 3/4 rice and 1/4 hamburger (as the vet said) and she puked it back up a few hours later.  So then I was told to try to mix in plain yogurt with her food.  So I have been doing so.  Should I be very worried or what's her problem?  It is very hot outside and I have been giving her lots of cold water.  I'm very worried.

Answer
Hi stephany;
Are you giving her ice water?
If she is drinking very cold water, especially with ice cubes in it, that, with the heat might give a clue.
Did the Veterinarian Xray her?
She could have some of that wrapper stuck in her digestive system somehow.
Could be too much fat in the hamburger, if this is a stomach virus. Did the Vet do any tests for a virus?
Since it started with the wrapper, which could be coincidence, or the cause, I would tend to suspect something about the wrapper, like something stuck that she can't pass, or a toxin in the wrapper material.
With a stomach virus, my Vet has me feed chicken and rice.
I skin the chicken and stew it, then cool the broth so the fat will congeal and I can remove it all.
with a stomach virus ( which one I used to have got them at the drop of a hat), that was the only thing she could keep down.
If there were no Xrays or tests, ask your Vet to do them, or if they didn't do that thorough an exam, maybe you should see a different Veterinarian.
