Dog heat cycles

I have a 5 year old, intact, female doberman who is currently in heat. She is a rescue dog and I have had her for 2 years. This is the beginning of week 3 and her flow is getting progressively heavier. Is this normal?

You've stumped me!

I would guess, that like humans, a dog's menstrual flow can vary, and be heavy at times. But like I said, that's only a guess.

A simple call to your vet's office will give you the answer and peace of mind you're looking for.
