Something is wrong with my boxer.

Question
I have two boxers who are about 6 years old. Figi and Gemiani are about as spoiled as a grandkid.  Not too long ago I noticed something different about their behavior.  They suddenly needed more attention, then Gemiani started to act a little strange. Example: She would act like she wanted to be petted and the start to wimper when you did.
Then this week my family and I noticed that she had worms, and that her stomach started to growl.  Didnt think too much of it and gave her some worm medican that she had taken before.  well then the last couple of days she started to vomit.  The vomit looked as if it hadn't digested at all, and there were chunks of her dog food in it.  So we gave her the medican that her vet perscribed for her and she still continues to vomit.  Today I noticed that her face was swelling, and her left leg was twitching, a lot.  The wierd thing about it though was that it wasn't the whole leg, it looked as if her blood veins were about to crawl out of her skin. What am I to do?

Sincerly,
Jackee

Answer
Dear Jackee,

Thank you for writing to me about Gemiani.  Something is terribly wrong with her and she needs to be brought to a top rate vet and given a full blood workup, thorough physical and some neurlogical work.  It is possible that she may have had a toxic reaction to the multiple medicines that she has taken in a short period of time but I am not a vet and only a battery of tests will reveal the cause of these distressing symptoms.

If you are within driving distance of a vet school, that would be the best place to take her because they usually have the best equipment and excellent vets on site.

My heart goes out to you and your dog. This must be extremely distressing for you.  My prayers for your dog's speedy recovery.

Best Regards,
Shelley Davis
