Question
My dog Maddox was taken the ER on last monday which was the 7th of May. When i came home from work and opened his crate to let him out he could not walk on his back legs abd barely on his rught front leg. The Vet put him on steriods along with 2 antibiotics. They did bllod work and xrays and still cant figure out what it is. He is walking a little bit now but his limbs still give out. He seems really depressed and will not really drink water so i have to water his wet food down even more. This situation is breaking my heart. He was fine one day he is fighting for his little life he just turned 1 years old on may 9 if you have any ideas on what this could be please let me no...

Answer
Hi Quana and thanks for your question.

I wish I had some answers for you :(

Maddox is so young, that a stroke seems a bit far-fetched, but the symptoms are there. Bloodwork and xrays probably wouldn't show any thing if it were that. Have they done a urinalysis? I am wondering about kidney function.
I would say that if your vet can't find something soon, you should find a vet specialist or go to a vet teaching facility.

If it was a stroke, prognosis is usually very good for such a young dog. Usually, after a few weeks, complete recoveries are possible with the right supportive care.

Let me know how it's going.
