Question
Hello, I have a Miniature Greyhound mixed with Rat Terrier and she seems to be sick She has a warm dry nose she occasionally  shakes and doesn't move much, what should I do?

Answer

Hi Taylor,

A dry nose isn't an indicator of a dog being sick. A dog nose can be moist, warm, cool or dry at different times of the day, and all are normal. Changes in the nose texture (such as being crusty or flaky) or a change of color could mean your dog should be examined by your veterinarian.

Many small dogs shake for a variety of reasons, this is normal. If your dog is behaving in a way that you feed isn't her norm, it's entirely possible that she's pain or she isn't feeling well. This can be due to far too many things to begin to guess at. If you think your dog isn't feeling well, you should have her examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Best of luck,

Patti
