Question
i have a 4 year old pomeranian. yesterday, after she came back from our backyard, she was kinda weak and try to cough out something. her tail was  down i could tell that she is not feeling good. we took her to the clinic and the vet gave her clavamox for a week. i am still concern since she is not showing any signs of progress or recovery.
then, i remember this whole thing happened before (last year). she was coughing and trying to scratch her nose then there was a piece of grass that was protruding from her nose. i pulled it out,(about 1 inch long) and she was fine until now. do you think this is happening again? please help me.

Answer
Hi Mila!
Yes, it is possible, but there is no way that I can say that is for sure why your little pom is behaving this way. I don't think that eating grass, and that is what happened when some came out of her nose, would cause the symptoms that you are describing.  Is she getting overheated?  That could be a real problem with small breed dogs, especially a dog with thick hair like a pom. Also, could she have gotten into some garbage?  It could have given her a sour stomach.  There are so many things it could be. Watch her closely. If there is vomiting, diarrhea or if she stops eating, please take her back to your vet.  If she acts normal other than acting a little depressed, then wait a day or so and see if she shakes it.   It's hard for me to say what this could be without actually seeing her.  I hope this helps somewhat.

God Bless,
Becky
