Sudden bad behavior

Question
My husband and I have a 4.5 year old silky terrier. We trained him at home and he is a good dog, but occasionally he will pee in the wrong place. The real problem is that he has been suddenly behaving badly by chewing up papers and today chewed our blanket on our bed. He has never done this before but recently after we moved couple of months ago. We don't know why he is doing this, can you help?

Answer
He is probably stressed out from the move; dogs don't usually do well with change in their lives.

I would limit his unsupervised time and confine him when no one is there to watch him. Don't allow him free rein of the house for awhile. Give him chewing activities, such as large knuckle bones or kong toys with treats inside to help relieve his stress, and take him for long walks or play games like throwing balls/toys for him to chase to tire him out. A tired dog is a happy dog!

He will come around after a bit once he realizes that this is his new home.
