Question
I have a min pin that is lumping on the table to get human food
and also getting in the trash to chew on stuff I have tried what I know I Need some more thoughts on breacking that bad habit

Answer
The easiest solution is to "manage" the dog's behavior by making it impossible for him to perform the undesired behavior.  What that means in your case is:

Either crate him during meal time or use a "tether."

As far as getting into the trash, the simplest solution would be to place the trashcan somewhere that the dog cannot get to it, such as inside a closet or cupboard, or purchase a trash can that has a locking lid.  Again, the crate can be a useful tool in that the dog can be crated when the owner is not home, thereby keeping the dog from getting into trouble.

You could also teach your dog a "down/stay" (which takes time and patience) and give him this command while eating your meals, but preventing him from getting into the trash is probably more challenging than just making the trash can inaccessible to him.
