DOG - ATTACK

Question
Hi !
One of these days, a friend's dog (siberian husky) attacked her! She told me she was trying to get the dog in the house (they went out to walk) and when they returned the dog refused to get in! So, she pulled the dog and the dog jumped over her and when she was on the floor, the dog bit her 3 times (now, she has several stitches!)
So, is it correct to stay with the dog? or it is better to sacrifice it? by the way ... is an old dog! (I've heard that old dogs tend to get violent!) -THANKS SO MUCH!- =)

Answer
Sounds like a tough one to retrain.  Before I would sacrifice it, I would have the vet examine it.  It wouldn't excuse it, but if the dog found going in the house painful due to arthritis or something, she might try treating it.  A younger dog, I might suggest a trainer or behaviorist.
