my dog was given heartguard when she was 2 weeks pregnant.  Is it safe?

Yes. Taken directly from the Merial website, "HEARTGARD Chewables have a wide margin of safety for all sizes and breeds of dogs. They are approved for use in puppies as young as 6 weeks, small dogs regardless of weight, pregnant or breeding bitches, stud dogs, and Collies."
