My puppy wont eat.

I just recently adopted an Australian Shepherd/Collie mix. And he will not eat anything. And he only takes sips of water. Do I need to take him to the vet or should I try a different puppy food. I bought IAMS puppy food(hard and soft?) Could it be the food?

Andrea, sometimes dogs will go off their food when you first bring them home. It's usually just stress and once they get used to their new surroundings and environment, they will begin eating better.

How old is your puppy, how long have you had him, and how are his stools? As long as he is drinking and going to the bathroom normally, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Regarding the type of food you're using, I would encourage you to take a look at http://dogfoods.angelfire.com to learn more about how to spot a good and bad food. Iams is not on my list of recommended foods, for many reasons.
