Springer Spaniel Leaking Urine

Hi Kristen, I am asking you a question on behalf of my parents who have an 8 year old Springer Spaniel.She is very lazy at going to the toilet in general but for a while now if she is lying down or asleep she will leave a wet patch where she has been.  Obviously this is not ideal and they are getting abit fed up with the wet patches on the carpet.  She has been to the vet a few times but nothing has worked.  Do you have any suggestions? What has the vet said, so far? Piddling while asleep is not laziness. There is SOME reason for it. Incontinency can occur for many reasons, from old age, to infections, to complications from spay surgery. I assure you, the dog is not doing it on purpose, or out of laziness.
