Question
Hi Lee,
I have 2 beautiful Rodesian Ridgebacks, 1 male 11 months and a 6 month female. They a very aggressive with each other when playing. The male tends to role around on his back alot when playing. Our past Ridge passed away from blote at 11 years. I have been noticing him panting alot and taking big breaths of air sometimes. What are some signs I can look for to be aware of another accident. My other question Lee is, the female is 6 months old and is showing small amounts of blood in her stool. Could she going into heat or is their something else I need to do. I love my pups alot and want to make sure their ok. Can you please help me out.

Answer
I can't really help out with the bloat question you will have to check with someone else to help with that (your veterinarian). Now on the the blood in the stool. It is most likely due to intestinal worms (hoowworms likely). You can take her to your vet and get a fecal sample run to see if she has parasites. This is inexpensive and should be done about twice a year.
