Question
Hello, I am emailing you for my sister, She has a Yorkie typed dog she got her from a lady who lives in teh country with her family and she used to rescue dogs all types and sizes and find new homes for them... so this is where she got her little yokorie type dog, she is yorkie color, barks alot but had some curly hair on her lower back and tail area which makes me think she is Xed with a poodle, she also has floppy ears. She was said to be two years old when she adopted her which was last September. She wasnt spayed. My siter hasnt spayed her I'm still not sure why..... anyway she had a heat cycle in the end of April. And know she is bleeding again... isnt this too close together for heat cycles even for a small dog? it was at teh very end of april or begging of may the first time. Also this may have something to do with the subject this little dog I'm not sure if its just the breed like this but 'Meya' is very lazy, she sleeps alot, she sleeps most of the days away... she still has young eyes and fetures so isnt extremly old but when shes home and not barking at something she is sleeping or she comes to work with us during the day four days a week and she sleeps all day in the truck(windows open half way or more...overly hot days she stays at home) She had really bad worms when she adopted her and she was treated for those rihgt away, she is current on vaccines and such also. Please let me know what you think the problme could be I understand that she should probaly take her in for some testing but and input would be greatly apracated she is such a lovely little dog and can even be walked without a leash.

p's she is normal weight of around 6 and a half pounds.

Answer
Hi, that sounds like a little small as far as weight for a Yorkie.  If she is a teacup type, then she can have more abnormal heat cycles.  Some dogs that have that have cyles every 4 months instead of every 6.  Which would be just about the right time.  I would recommend getting her spayed as she will probably always have abnormal cycles.  Hope this helps,
