white bump on leg

Hi,

   I have a min pin and she has had this white bump on her back leg (towards the lower leg area) and it doesn't seem to bother her at all, I've touched it and she doesn't react to it, so I'm not sure if I should be worried. She did have fleas a while back, but I treated her and still give her her monthly frontline, so I don't know if that could be why. I also wanted to know if you know if it is normal for a dog to lick alot? My dog licks me alot, but thats not why I'm asking, she sometimes sounds like she has something stuck in her throat and then licks the blanket or couch, whatever she is on. If you could help me. Thank you.

It's hard to tell whether or not you should be worried about the bump without actually seeing it, but I definitely think it would be a good idea to take her to the vet so they can aspirate it and find out what kind of cells are in it to rule out the possibility of cancer.  I wish I could help you with the licking, but that one has be stumped.  Some dogs are more orally fixated than others.  I don't know of any medically related reasons why she might do it.  Just be careful she is not ingesting anything when she does it.
