Sudden inability to walk

Question
Hi, I have owned my Shitzu (I appologize for the spelling) Noah, for almost 10 years.  I know my dog's behavior, and i noticed one day that he was just not acting himself, he was acting clumbsy and his tail was between his legs.  The following day, he was limping (on his front paw) and could barely walk.  The next day, he could not walk more than 10 feet without stumbling, or having to lay down (it appeared to be his back legs this time).  I thought it might be hip dysplasia, but I wasn't sure if hip dysplasia came on as fast as this did (Noah's condidtion literally developed overnight).
I'm not sure if the change in behavior could possibly be due to the pain from whatever is causing him to not be able to walk.  Any insight on Noah's condidtion would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Thanks for your question.  It sounds to me like your shih tzu had a seizure in the nightime.  I use to have a shih tzu Allie,  and she had seizure and would be very disoriented for the remainder or the night or day.  Take him to the vet and get him on some pills.  Make sure and ask your vet if he thinks seizures could be the cause.  Hope this helps.
