Question
14-yr.-old All-American neutered male,
giving him Hill's U/D after surgery for calcium oxalate bladder stones,
vets say urinalysis every month, radiology
every 3 months, blood test every

With the expense of the diet food we won't
be able to afford all that testing!
Any advise or suggestions?

Answer
Hi, in this type of situation I see most vets being over cautious, especially due to the dog's age.  I would definitely do the urinalysis every month so that you can get the heads up early on for any problems arising.  You didn't say how often on the blood tests, but between blood work & radiographs, I would personally go with blood work first due to costs.  Again depends on how often they want the blood work.  Hope this helps,  Good Luck
