Question
we just got a 6 week old male min pin and her tail was not docked and we would like to have it done...can this still be done and is very costly

Answer
Yes, it can still be done, but it is now major surgery since it is an amputation due to the puppy's "advanced" age. My suggestion would be to wait and have it done when you have the dog spayed (or cropped if you are having that done in a couple weeks). Price will vary depending on the vet and your area of the country, but, yes, it will be a lot more expensive (and traumatic) now than if the breeder had had it done shortly after birth as he should have.

Since you just got your new puppy, she needs to be examined by a veterinarian anyway to make sure that she is healthy (be sure you take in a stool sample for examination), and you can ask your vet about tail docking and pricing while you are there.
