please help!

Hi, we have had our golden retreiver for about 8 years I believe (maybe a little
longer) ever since she was a puppy.  Recently, she stopped eating as much
and just seems sad.  She is walking slow and the vet says she might have
arthritis and she def needs to drop some pounds.  A big change just
happened a month ago around the house-my sister moved away for school
and my parents drove her there, so for that week with just me in the house
she seemed sad and depressed.  Now she is walking a little slow and not even
eating her biscuits that she always used to love! she is on pain medicine from
the vet, but is this something you think will go away? or is her non appetite
due to the meds she is on and the changes around in her life? THANKS SO
MUCH!!!!!!!

Has the vet done a complete physical work up? Bloodwork heart lungs etc? if not have him do so immediately. How did he diagnose the arthritis? What's he giving her? Have you thought of getting a second opinion? I would strongly suggest doing so just to be safe. If he has not done a total physical, do it immediately.,
