upset chihuahua

ok, I've had H'ola (m) 8ysr old chihuahua for apx 3.5 yrs now. He is a very fun loving, playful and snuggly buddy, however he pees in the house. he is house broken! and will go outside and then come in and pee. He has a dog door and uses it and the house. He has also taken up food guarding and being very serious about it. Help me before my husband demands he go to the pound. I love this stubborn dog:(

If he has never peed in the house and he is starting now,it may be a health problem such as a bladder infection or some type of hormonal problem(such as thyroid problems) And that might account for why he is guarding his food-so if this is a never problem,I would recomend taking him to the vet

However if he has always been like that,it is probably dominance,and in that case you need to take to him to obedience classes and also getting dogs fixed can reduce marking
