Convincing my mom!!!!!!!!!

Question
HI, I am 13 years old and i know I would be a responsible dog owner.  I do petsitting for free and have at least one dog to walk every day (even when its below 30 degrees).  I have trained puppies and adult dogs.  I do not mind picking up dogs waste and do not lose my temper easily.  I have also wanted a dog since I was a little girl.  After school, I love going to the library and read different types of books on dogs.  My dog of choice is A Great Dane, my neighbour has one and I LOVE him.  I also have a strong arm, and strong, physical personality(so I would do better with a large than small dog) and would like a dog that would love a good romp or a belly rub.  I have saved up around $1,500.00 for a dog and have found an ad in a local newspaper stating that there is a 2 year old Great Dane for adoption.  He is perfect.  Theres only one problem, my mom.  She wants a small dog and is a very "fancy" type person who would rather go to an art gallery than a hike.  Now me, I love going to offleash dog parks and would like to become involved in many different activities with my dog.  There is an offleash park RIGHT by my house and my mom wouldn't have to help with anything.  I would pay for everything (I have a job if I ever run out), I would train, I would walk, I would groom, I will take the dog with me when I move out I would do anything.  Please help me with any ideas as to how I can convince my mom to just come with me and bring the dog into our house.  PLEASE help, i'm in love with this Great Dane, and I've tried EVERYTHING!

Answer
Hey,
First of all, you can show your mother the e-mail you sent me, showing her how committed you are. You can also bargain with your mother, for example, you get to keep the dog fi your grades improve... Tell your mother how much you really are interested in getting a dog, and tell her how you think you will be able to take care fo the dog.
Three years ago, when I was 13, I convinced my father of allowing me to adopt a dog. We both agreed that I can get the dog for 10 days, and if during that time I will walk the dog everyday and take care of her, I will get to keep her. I got Bella, and now I still have. Of Course I still feed and walk her everyday. Maybe you would like to offer your mother the same deal I did with my father. Get a dog for a certain amount of time, and you get to keep it only if you do what you and your mother agree upon.
Also point out to your mother why you really want a dog, and how adopting this dog will help you. For me, walking the dog everyday made me in a much better physical shape, and the thing I enjoy the most and makes me happy is walking her everyday.
Please e-mail me back telling me how this go and if you did get the dog, hopefully you will have, but if you didn't, I'm sure we will be able of thinking of somehting else.
Good luck...
