lump on rib

I have an 11 year old husky/shepard mix. Today I felt a lump on her left side, bigger than a golf ball smaller than a tennis ball. She is in good health. Still runs and jumps like a puppy. Any idea what it could possibly be? Thank you.  Lori

Hi Lori, It depends on where on her side the lump is.  The big thing when it comes to lumps is to make sure they are  not growing.  With her age, it is inevitable that she might get some lumps.  Is the lump soft or hard, and can you put your fingers completely around it, or is it attached to something?  These questions are very important when deciding what to do.
