Hi Emily,  I am interested in buying a small purebred puppy. My children are over the age of ten and are considerate. We want a lap dog that is easy to house break. I work part time and need something that won't wreck the house when left alone. We were thinking about a Cavalier but they are pretty expensive and I read that they should'nt be left alone. My husband likes Pugs but I heard that they are difficult to house break. What breed would you recommend? I appreciate your taking the time to answer. Thank you! Beth

Please don't think Im being rude but if you are going to be gone longer than five hours a day, don't get a small dog(they need ALOT of attention) OR get a small enough dog you can take it everywhere with you. And on regards to a Cavalier costing too much, if you find a repuatable breeder you will be getting more than your moneys worth. Not to mention good breeders rarely make a penny off their dogs. Its a hobby and a love, not a buisness. Other than that I like that your considering your childrens ages. I rarely get that. Could you please get back to me letting me know if you want a pet only, must it be purebred, the amount of grooming and age(puppy, young adult, adult, senior). And please remember that older dogs are more stable, house-trained and you will know what your getting. I'll be glad to help you more.
