Shiba Inu Neutering

Question
I have a 4 year old Shiba Inu that has not been neutered. He continues to mark all of the time and is somewhat aggressive toward other dogs in the house. Will having him neutered at his age help alleviate some of the issues we are having? I don't want to neuter him if his bad behavior will continue.

Hi Anna,
I have seen it go both ways, but more so I have seen it calm them down a bit.  At four years old he has a lot of the issues in his brain, but there is still hormones involved.  When you neuter, the hormones are greatly reduced.  It takes awhile for this to happen.  You might also consider prozac or some of the other anxiety lowering drugs.  They do help a lot.
