Bloody Diarrhea

Question
I have a 3 month old golden retriever. We went to a picnic 2 days ago and he
got ahold of some small rib bones. Starting yesterday he has had diarrhea
that he cant hold in. He's vommited once and everytime he goes to the
bathroom theres pieces of cartilage and tiny pieces of bones. He isn't
lethargic at all. But his poop looks like brown and red goo-ey mixture. is this
serious enough to take him to the vet? or should we wait to see if the bones
pass?

Hi Sarah,

If your dog is having bloody uncontrollable diarrhea for more than 24 hours, then it's time to call your vet.
It would be foolish to play a guessing game, when the presence of blood can indicate a potentially serious problem.
