Shiba Inu Coat

Question
My shiba inu (which is a double coated dog) had half of his body shaved to repair a broken leg. I have read many things that say that his coat my not grow back, I was just wondering if this is true. I would like to know if is coat will grow back and what I can do to help.

Answer
Yes,that is often true a large number of breeds, but more if they are shaved all the time for the summer ect,it will probably grow back but might not be as full as it was,or even take up to a year-as it did when I got my Shiba Inu spayed

there isn't really anything you can do,except to wait-but with this type of coat it should grow back,it's more longer hair that doesn't,like Pomeranians or Collies, fur like a Shiba's does tend to grow back, just slower then breeds like poodles that get hair cuts
