Figs and dogs

Could you please tell me if figs are poisonous in dogs?  I have a fig tree growing in my yard and my 1 year old Havanese eats everything she sees.  I want to cut it down soon before it starts producing if the fruit could harm her.  Thank you very much.

I have not heard anything about fig fruit being dangerous, although Weeping Fig trees are on the "dangerous plant" list. Its never a good idea for a gluttonous dog to have an ongoing food source however, so maybe a fence around the tree would be a good idea no matter what!!
