bather pay

I have owned my grooming business over 8 years and have had bather turn over, I have been paying between 8-9/ hour but find most to be clock milkers.  Would it be fair to pay them by the dog according to size and type to keep them motivated and pace speedy.  Keeping in mind the good bathers would make better the 9/ hour this way.

According to National Pay Data, the salary for a dog bather is between $7.46 and $9.00 an hour, so you've been paying squarely within that range.

I'd say if you can find an employee who agrees to being paid by the size or breed of the dog, rather than a flat hourely wage, then it's fair.
