What do I do?

My little 7 1/2 month old pug just started her first heat, I am watching my friends dogs, one is a 2 year old pug male. Is it ok, with her diaper on and I do not leave them alone? Is this safe for her?

No.  Do you have any idea how many questions I see from people that thought this or that was safe?  Not only would bearing a litter be very hard on her at her age, chances are neither one of them is really breeding quality.  If you feel we have a shortage of Pugs, check www.petfinders.org  Quite likely you, her, and the rest of the dog world world be better off if your friend had him neutered now, and you had her spayed a soon as the vet will.  Why don't you work through some of the links at http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/articles.html#breeding
