submisive peeing

Question
We own a malimute, husky, wolf mix.  She has started to pee herself when you talk to her and touch her.  What could cause this and how can we stop.  We love this dog very much but am afraid to pay an attention to her while she is inside the house.  She is about 16 weeks old and has been doing this now for about a month and a half to 2 months.

Answer
Thanks for your question.  My saint bernard would do that same thing to my boyfriend when he would come near him.  Its the wolf coming out in her.  In a pack in order to show submisive behavior they will lay on the ground on there backs and pee or whine to show that they are not competeing for alpha dog.  As she gets older she will grow out of this.  As far as what you can do is buy her a diaper.  Go to drsfostersmith.com and type in diaper in the search box.  Mail me back and let me know if this helps.
