Question
How often should my dog have vaccinations and what vaccinations are 100% necessary?

I think my vet is over vaccinating my dog in order to make money. From what I read he didn't need all the vaccinations he got today. He had the following:
Fecal Float
Bordetella Semi-Annual
Heartworm Test
DHLPP Tri-Annual
Corona Tri-Annual
plus the Exam cost of $50.00!!!!

Answer
Hi Steph,  The Bordetella is optional; Heart worm test is needed yearly before they give you the RX for the monthly pills;
Fecal Test is good to do 1-2 x per year to check for parasites;
The other shots depend on the age of the Pet;  If the dog is over a certain age you can omit some vaccinations and do a titer test in it's place.
Please let me know how old this pet is?
Then I can address the Corona and the DHLPP

Hope this helps?
