pugs obsessive behaviour

Hi,
I have a female pug around 1 year old and in the past two months she has become completely obsessed with my father. To point of ignoring the entire family when he is around and when he leaves the house she sits at the front door crying and waiting his return. She whimpers and is miserable when separated from him and this behavior is bordering on the obscene, any thoughts/suggestions on how to minimize this obsessive behavior ?

My guess is that this is seperation anxiety and requires further evaluation which i can not do from here unfortunately. Is your father able to or does he spend more one on one time with the dog? Is he home more then others? Let me know and we will go from there
