Question
i have a 6yr old alsation/colliecross dog who is very sensitive to weather conditions especially wind, even on calm day he becomes very aggitated, will not leave my side following me from room to room, produces alot of saliva when i am out, pants alot. can u suggest anything to calm him. have tried dr.bach's recovery plus but does not work. don't want to give him 'drugs' from vet but at loss as to what to do. can u help?

Answer
I am not much of a believer in herbal remedies as I have yet to see any of them actually work.

One thing you might try is an "anxiety wrap". The pressure of this is supposed to have a calming effect on a dog (I have not tried it myself). http://www.anxietywrap.com/anxietywrap.htm

Personally, I would opt for a drug such as prozac or amitriptyline and behavior modification. Don't baby this dog as it will just escalate his behavior.
