Our rescue lab mix

Question
Hi-
We have an 11 year old male rhodesian ridgeback and a 3 year old female lab rescue.  We lost another rhodesian 3 years ago a and got the lab rescue as our rhodesian was lonely - it has really made a difference with our rhodesian. Our lab mix rescue was about 8 months when we got her and is now about 3 years old.  We have a 4 and 6 year old and our rescue is very good with children.  Now the issue.  The rhodesian has always slept in bed with us - he is not a dominant dog and is a big baby.  He always gets in bed about 4 a.m. to snuggle and sleep with me.  Our rescue now gets in bed before him and snarls at him when he tries to get in bed.  Our rescue also steals the rhodesian's rawhide and other treasures and will actually eat one bone and lay on one while our Rhodesian looks on sadly.  The two are affectionate and do play and give eachother wonderful greetings in the morning.  I assume that I have a dominate dog on my hands but how do I control her actions?  She also snitches food off of the counter and from the table.
Thanks.

Answer
The best way to deal with dominance issues would be with obedience training-as it puts YOU ion the alpha spot and in a possition to get your dog to listen to you at all times

And another thing you can do with the toys, rawhides ect is to always have an 'extra' one, hidden so when the lab mix steals the toy/rawhide from your other dog,you can give the extra one to him

For stealing food, what you do is put something on there, and put something really spicy like chilli powder on the food, and after enough times of this the dog has no desire to take food-another methos you can try if that doesn't work(some dogs like spicy food)is to put a chock chain on him, with a leash and everytime she jumps up on the table pull her off fast and say 'leave it' loud and firm

As for her growling at the other dog,it's probably best to leave it alone,as any interference may lead to fighting-which would be worse.Dogs often sort out there orders between each other without resulting in hurting each other. If you tried to change things, like by calling your other dog up-it might result in your female attacking the male
